Sage oil is acquired from the evergreen perennial herb sage, scientifically known as Salvia officinalis, which belongs to the Labiatae family. Sage herb grows up to 60cm in height and has a woody base, soft gray green oval leaves and violet or blue flowers. Sage herb is native to Southern European regions and nations surrounding the Mediterranean Sea, like Yugoslavia and Greece.

Extraction Process:
Sage essential oil is extracted from the dried leaves of the herb Salvia officinalis through steam distillation.

Properties:
Sage oil is pale yellow-green in appearance and it triggers sensitizations. Sage oil has a sharp and spicy herbal smell and it is watery in viscosity.

Composition:
Its main constituents are pinene, camphene, myrcene, limonene, 1, 8-cineole, thujone, β-thujone, camphor, linalool, bornyl acetate and borneol.

Blending:
Sage oil is well mixed with other essential oils such as bergamot, clary sage, geranium, ginger oil, orange, vetiver, neroli, lavender, lemon, tea tree and rosemary oil.
